• May be secondary a UTI. Order UA and treat accordingly.
  • Look at BG. May be secondary to Diabetes Mellitus. Order a CMP.
  • The patient is encouraged to not drink large quantities of fluid at night before she goes to sleep and to empty her bladder before lying down at night.
  • Keep a small light on in the patient’s bathroom overnight to improve visibility.
  • Keep the path clear between her bed and her bathroom.
  • Consider discussing the addition of a bedside commode to facilitate easier voiding at night and to reduce potential for falls.
    1. Nocturnal Enuresis:
      1. Order Osmolality of the urine to assess for Diabetes Insipidus.
      2. Consider psychological problems (enuresis for pediatrics): Refer to Behavioral Health.
